I'm an Aussie living in Thailand and thinking about taking my Wife (Thai) for a short trip to the USA. I can enter the USA Visa exempt, however I would like to hear of any difficulties in getting a Tourist Visa for a Thai citizen. As my Wife speaks only a little English, are translators available for the interview process, or could I accompany her? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of obtaining a US Tourist Visa for a Thai citizen can be quite challenging due to low approval rates, with only about 30% of applications being accepted. Thais applying for this visa may face long wait times for appointments and potentially lengthy processing periods, especially if they have limited travel history. Additionally, language barriers may complicate the interview process, although interpreters who speak Thai are often available at the embassy. It's crucial for applicants to demonstrate ties to Thailand, such as employment and financial stability, to increase their chances of approval.
I got my Mrs a USA visa but it was hard … one on one interview . You need to show that her work has given her leave for the time and that she has funds . If her english is poor , then no need to apply . They approve very few
It’s very difficult for a Thai woman to get a tourist visa. We’ve tried two times now and my girlfriend was denied twice. She had all the docs necessary to prove she would be going back to Thailand and they refused to even look at them. Useless people who can’t even do their job.
A translator is for written documents I think you mean an interpreter. And no they have people that can speak Thai doing the interview. Has she been to Australia or Europe before that would help
I have heard getting into the US can be a pain. Canada? Mexico? I am American and don't really see the appeal of going to the US. We have mass shootings and Disneyland. Other places of Disneyland
