TLDR : Answer Summary
The O-A Retirement visa allows for a multi-entry arrangement. When returning to Thailand in November 2018 with a re-entry permit, you should expect to receive a stamp that extends your stay until the existing expiration date of your visa in June 2019.

I thought O-A was a multi entry visa stamping one in for one year everytime the holder arrived in Thailand: up-to the validity of visa. I'd suggest you to check if that is the case.

It is but the OP wants to leave and return after it expires on the 28th August 2018 so he'll need a re entry permit to keep his admitted to stay stamp alive.

With the re entry permit when arrive back in Thailand in November 2018 you'll be stamped in until your existing stay in June 2019
