What should my friend do if he hasn't received his ED visa for Thailand before his travel date?

Michelle Bedford Then they need to go through the school. Every school that offers and ED Visa is going to have personal connections at the immigration office so they will be more reliable when it comes ro the staus of an Ed Visa versus the website.

I misspoke. They cannot get an ED Visa on their own. They need a qualified school to attend and back the visa or they will never get it.

They need to go to the school for answers is what I'm saying.

@Michelle ********

he's just going to have to wait and hope. If he flies before it's issued and enters Thailand visa exempt, make sure he doesn't use the new auto gates. We have reports that people who have entered that way with a visa application in progress receive notification shortly after using the auto gates that their application was cancelled for entering Thailand. But no reports of that happening with the manned immigration counters.

@Kelly ****

anyone can go to the e-visa website and apply for an ED visa. Why else is it available? It's actually MUCH easier to get from an embassy with the documents from the school than any other way. Just because you've only done it one way doesn't make that the only way.

It cannot be an assumption, though. Its much more simple than an assumption. Every single ED Visa has to go through a qualified school. Nobody can go to the immigration website and apply for an ED visa.

As well, my ED visa took 4 weeks to get.
