Anybody did DTV online or in person at immigration in Cambodja? Currently in Bangkok and was thinking about taking a flight to Phnom Penh. Since it's just an 1hour flight for around 1000-2000baht.

Anyone had any success there or planning the same thing?

What I heard is that they are opening up e-visa.

Does it go faster if you go straight to the immigration?

Have all the documents prepared.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Currently, the Thai visa application process in Cambodia is entirely online. There is no option for walk-in services at the consulate. Applicants must enter Cambodia, log into the e-visa system, and upload the required documents including their Cambodian entry stamp. The approval time is generally around 5 business days, making it advisable to plan a stay in Cambodia for about 30 days to avoid stress during the waiting period.

Cambodia takes longer than other embassies in the region, but seems to be much simpler in what they request for documents (my opinion).

Did you do yours in December? Why I'm asking is cause it's alot of holidays
John *******
@Patrik ******
- No, I did mine in July. So far, most people are still getting their visa based on the timeframe supplied by the embassy. Holiday days don’t count

I did mine there first part of December its all online got mine the night of the 10th business day. Can look up my post on here. I did soft power and they did not request anything extra. Good luck.

They've been on the eVisa system at the thai consulate in Phnom Penh since Oct 8th

There is NO walk up to the consulate and apply

Works like this;

1 - You go to Cambodia,

2 - you log in to the evisa system,

3 - you upload the required documents,

4 - you upload your Cambodian visa/entry stamp,

5 - you use the hotel you're staying at there as your "current address"

6 - you pay online,

***then you wait in cambodia until the visa is approved

After it's approved you print out the PDF they email you, fly back to thailand and give it and your passport to the officer when you stamp in

Right now they are pretty fast with most people getting approved in 5 business days

you can actually speed up the process a bit by making a profile in the eVisa online system selecting Phnom Penh as the consulate (say you're there already) upload ALL the documents in the correct spots EXCEPT proof of you being in cambodia, then SAVE the application in your profile (you can save up to 10 applications)

So that when you get to cambodia you can take a photo of your visa/entry stamp upload it then apply right then.

That's the fastest way to do it

Think I saw like 2 weeks in Cambodia

But make it a vacation and spend 30 days and don’t stress looking everyday for the visa. Maybe hit siem reap and fly out if there new airport

Ah no that's not the case for me. I just want it approved ASAP. If not go for tourist visa and then try again, or buy an ed.

@Patrik ******
don't go the Ed Visa route again. With the fraud in the Ed Visa and Volunteer Visas, Thai Immigration Officers are cracking down. Plus, getting a second Ed Visa is not easy. Stick with the DTV visa.

@Patrik ******
there is no ASAP anymore… quickest probably like 5 days in vietnam via eVisa

It’s only available online now. There’s no walk in service in SE Asia now.

Hmm olright.. think it would go a lot smoother if you just head straight to the thai embassy in cambodja... I mean whats difference does it make in the process on e-visa in how fast you will get it? If I do in Laos or cambodja? If it's all done online it won't matter from which country you do it from or am I wrong?
Dany ********
@Patrik ******
Laos states like 15 days processing time or something like that. Very long
Randy ********
@Patrik ******
you will not get any service in person. You can be in any country other than Thailand when applying for the visa.

I’ll say this again, you will not get any help walking into any Thai embassy. They have all moved to online for the visas.
