Hi. I’m trying to apply for a tourist 60 day visa for my wife. As she’s Thai, they ask for her name in native language, obviously Thai. Do they mean her Thai surname or English married surname please? Also, do our applications need to go in separate accounts? Mr Google seems unable to help and I’ve spent a whole day on this! Your help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Jim

TLDR : Answer Summary
Jim is inquiring about the visa application process for his Thai wife, specifically whether she needs a tourist visa and how her name should be entered in the application. Comments clarify that she does not need a visa if she holds a Thai passport, and it's advised to use the name as it appears on her Thai passport. Additionally, each person must submit a separate application.

Thanks for your help guys. She’s lived here 40 years and no longer holds Thai passport. She’ll get one now though.

Thanks for that. I’d sooner do it properly via the embassy if I can. I wonder if the problem is with the website. I can’t get their phone to ring, let alone have someone answer it. Their email seems to be disconnected too.

No change there then!

if she is Thai then she does not need a visa

Use the name on her Thai passport for the Thailand pass. She doesn’t need visa or health insurance if she’s registered in the Thailand health insurance program.

As long as she has a valid Thai passport she wouldn’t need a visa

They live in London so I'm assuming he means a 60 day Thai visa which if she is a Thai national with passport she shouldn't need one

You don't need a visa to enter your own country...

If your talking 60 day visa into Thailand then if your wife has a thai passport she does not need a visa

Whatever name is on her passport. Each person would need a separate application.

Thanks. That makes sense. It’s just the question comes after asking for her previous (Thai) names. It simply asks for Full name in native alphabet.
