Hey, can you guys share your experience of entering on dtv? Just saw in the group there have been instances of unwanted srutinization while entering on the dtv? Someone said they were asked to show all the docs, they used while applying. This would be very inconvenient given some of us applied physically and don't have all the docs handy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats have shared mixed experiences regarding the entry process into Thailand using the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). While some have faced scrutiny and were asked to present documentation used during their visa application, others reported a smooth entry without any issues. To prepare, it is advised to carry both physical and digital copies of documents, particularly financial statements and visa approval letters. Travelers suggest having essential documents readily accessible in case immigration officers inquire, as they have the authority to request such information.

Traveling tomorrow morning with family from Bangalore. I have my bank statement and company reports on my phone and hardcopy of DTV handy.

If I face any such questioning, I will update the group.

If for any reason immigration don't think you meet the criteria then have documentation available in a folder to show them, it's not rocket science just the same information you used when applied, especially funds

Keep all the documents you used when applied at the embassy either online or in person, print outs and keep in a file so can be presented to immigration if checked for inspection

Only people with obscure pasts of visa "abusing"* might be scrutinized.

* like having lived in Thailand on visa exempts like for 5 years straight or having an ED visa for studying Thai language like for 3 years and not being able to even say hello or thank you in Thai, etc.

not sure if this is entirely true. I believe certain nationalities are also scrutinized, even if no visa past

Also, just some advice as finances seem to have become a hot topic in the past few years always have your primary financial institution on your speed dial. If I need to I can get someone on the phone at Fidelity 24 hours a day in about 10 seconds, don’t have to fumble for a phone number when you’re standing in line for your financial institution make sure you can get a live human being tested out beforehand. Don’t try and make it work when you’re standing in line under the light

The first time I entered Thailand on my DTV was at BKK it took about two minutes. The only advice I got from the immigration officer was to always be sure. I had my DTV paper with the QR code with me when entering the country. No scrutinization.

They have every right to ask whatever they want. Immigration always have the final say. So, if there is any doubt then simply download said docs onto your smartphone. And if requested, simply present them to the officer. 👮

"Unwanted"? The immigration officer has a job to do, mostly that involves scrutiny. In any case if they do ask to see documentation they would likely be looking for updated documentation not the originals. Mostly people are just stamped in at the moment

yes imo, it's nuisance because that was the whole purpose of the visa, to get peace of mind. As opposed to entering on exempt.

it may be a nuisance to you, but nevertheless the immigration officer is doing their job. No visa gives you an automatic right of entry
