Got my one year extension non o retirement at pathum thani today .Only waited an hour and it was all done and dusted ,just followed the instructions on the handout

Only vague area is the home visit .We spend a lot of time at the mother in laws and he kept asking my wife what is our main residence and she didn’t give a very clear explanation and I think he said about cancelling the extension .Will have to wait and see what happens

Crazy rules because I’m retired and a man of leasure so why can’t i travel around ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently obtained a one-year extension for their NON-O retirement visa at the Pathum Thani immigration office with relatively quick processing time. However, they raised concerns about clarity surrounding the home visit required by immigration officials, particularly regarding the main residence and how time spent at their mother-in-law's house was questioned by the officer. Other users contributed experiences indicating variability in home visit procedures, including the need for witnesses and the possibility of unannounced visits. They also discussed the importance of providing clear information about residency to avoid complications.

Don't think they're saying you can't travel around, but you do have to have a residence you call home. Also don't think they're saying that you can't change your residence, but that requires doing the appropriate paperwork for immigration when you do. To be evasive when asked by immigration, sure that going to not go well.

I go to the same immigration office. I'm 70 retired and they told me next time to apply for a non o visa and then extend 1 year, but I have to come back to the USA for specific medical treatments they don't provide here.

You are so lucky, the day that we went in for an interview, we had to wait for 3 hours. And the home visit you also need 2 witnesses to be with you and your wife as well if you apply with marriage visa.

If they come for a home visit they will come to the address you provided to them. They're meant to call before they come but out of the last 3 home visits I've had on my retirement extension I got the call twice the day following the visit and once got no call at all. Not all offices do visits for retirement extensions though so they have been mixed up with a marriage extension
