Just arrived in Suvarnabhumi airport.

I explained that as i live here that i stay in my house .

Not good enough ! So i was marched off with another immigration officer who kept on the same theme°!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their frustrating experience upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a Non-O retirement visa, having been questioned aggressively by immigration officers about their accommodation. The situation escalated due to confusion over the address provided, as there are two places named Khao Yai. The post ignites a discussion among expats about similar experiences with immigration, especially concerning the treatment received from female immigration officers, and the documentation needed as proof of residence.

Okay, not to take sides with the passport stamping immigration officer BUT if I had to face an endless like of foreigners who act like they're entitled to be in MY country while on a yearly extension of stay, who despite being here years and years, can't speak a word of my language, I might cop an attitude with them too.

Just sayin' there's two sides to every coin..

Thanx for the opinions and contributions everyone.

In Chiang Mai you’d have your TM30 stapled to your passport along with entry card, visa, re entry permit and extension of stay stamp and that will match their records (hopefully). So for once I’d say there may actually be some purpose in the idiot TM30 that only CM expats worry about

good guess (y) , but unfortunately the TM.30 is not in the data base that passport control officers can see at the borders when stamping in (that means the airports too). It's just at the immigration offices. :/

555 Is Roi Et any more "real" than Din Daeng or Koh Samui? Yeah, racism is alive and well here in SE Asia, whether one has to wade through the Nigerian pimps and the trafficked Ugandan girls in Sukhumvit or hear the things the Japanese and Korean tourists say about the Thai (and say about each other when not in one another's earshot) to know that the concept of Racism is not a European or American construct. They do it fine here.

Parmentier that is quite literally illegal, there are signs all over immigration saying no phones, no cameras, advising to take out your phone and record an immigration officer is terrible advice that could get you arrested.

use your phone, put it in your top pocket camera on. make low profile, smile, go home save the movie on a cd with word page explaining the behaviour of the officer, sent it to the imm. comnander in bkk. done

believe me they are acting.
