Was it a bad idea for me to apply at Phnom Penh on August 11?

The embassy is open and accepting applications, but I'm still waiting for a status on the DTV.

I ask because no one seems to be going to that embassy anymore in this group.

The Thai embassy (Jul 28th) requested that all Thai nationals who could, should leave Cambodia. This would include non-essential embassy employees and staff family and spouses. Furthermore, the consular department that is responsible for visas is also responsible for Thai citizen services for Thais in Cambodia (who they asked to leave quickly). You can imagine all of these is going to slow the visa review process down.
