Was it a bad idea for me to apply at Phnom Penh on August 11?
The embassy is open and accepting applications, but I'm still waiting for a status on the DTV.
I ask because no one seems to be going to that embassy anymore in this group.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether applying for a Thai visa at the embassy in Phnom Penh on August 11 was a poor decision, particularly since they are still awaiting DTV status amidst reports of delays at the embassy. Comments indicate concern about the embassy's operational issues and delays in visa processing, with one user mentioning that the process could take 3 to 4 business weeks.
The Thai embassy (Jul 28th) requested that all Thai nationals who could, should leave Cambodia. This would include non-essential embassy employees and staff family and spouses. Furthermore, the consular department that is responsible for visas is also responsible for Thai citizen services for Thais in Cambodia (who they asked to leave quickly). You can imagine all of these is going to slow the visa review process down.
