Hello, based on the visa exempt period of 60 days I purchased our tickets to BKK on 17.12.25 return back to France on the 5.4.26. I reserved a house in Hua Hin for 6 weeks in the beginning and another for 6 weeks at the end in Koh Samui. In between we planned to travel Vietnam. Now I heard that the visa exempt will go back to a 30 day period, has anyone more info about this and what would you suggest for me to do??? It seems several extensions in a year is not advised??? Thank you so much for your advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their upcoming trip to Thailand after hearing rumors that the visa-exempt period might revert from 60 days to 30 days. They have planned to spend time in Hua Hin and Koh Samui and travel to Vietnam. Community members advised that the 60-day exemption is still in effect and suggested options like applying for a tourist visa for longer stays or extending visits upon entry. There is uncertainty regarding any official changes, with suggestions to be cautious of rumors.

Where did you hear it's going back to 30 days? Gossip, FB, or the official Thai govt page? It makes a difference. 😊

Your travel to Vietnam has to be within the first 60 days.

No one knows what’s happening to the 60 day exemption. The government has said they are changing it back (it was only a temporary measure) but there’s no timeline. Tourism numbers are dropping and they face strong competition from other nations in SE Asia, so they may choose to keep it as it is.

You'll be fine, just spend time in Vietnam that a normal tourist would. The visa exempt 60 day entry isn't changing anytime soon.

It’s still 60 days and i think it will stay at 60 days as Thailand needs tourism as Vietnam is trying to Lull many people to their country,it makes good business sense for Thailand but hey this is Thailand so ya never know 😉

You can apply for a 30 day extension each time you enter. Or you can apply for a tourist visa from the Thai embassy before you travel which will give you 60 days when you arrive.

But right now no one knows if or when visa exempt will switch to 30 days.
