What should I do if my Thai tourist visa application is still pending and I have concerns about my documents?

Hi everyone,l need some advice please
I applied online for a 2-week tourist visa to Embassy London on 24 October 2026, using my UK travel document

When uploading my documents, I uploaded a photo in the required section, but the system showed an error. I’m not sure whether the photo was successfully submitted or not.

I also uploaded only one supporting document because I didn’t know how to combine multiple documents into one PDF.

On the same day, I emailed all my supporting documents to the Thai Embassy Visa Department, including: references number

• HR employment letter

• Three months’ bank statements from two different bank accounts

• Three months’ payslips

• UK driving licence

• Flight and hotel bookings

• Copies of my travel document and entry/exit stamps

• Visa payment receipt

I received an automatic email confirmation from the Embassy saying they had received my email.

However, when I log in to my e-Visa account, the status still says “Pending Document Check”.

I have already paid around £1,600 for my Thai Airways flight ticket and nearly £400 for hotel bookings. When I check my flight booking, the cancellation option is greyed out and I cannot click on it.

I would really appreciate your advice:

1. Do you think my application is likely to be approved?

2. Will the Embassy check my email and supporting documents as well as my online application?

3. How long does the visa process usually take?

4. If my visa is refused, how can I avoid losing the money I paid for my flight and hotels? Can I get a refund?

Sadly from our experience, even though they only officially announced the end of the 60 Day Visa free option on 15th September, they are taking 4-6 weeks (or more) to process applications and do not answer phone calls or respond to emails.

They just don’t seem to be able to handle the sheer volume of requests this latest rule change has generated.

Even if you applied on the exact date the new rule came in you might be unlikely to get your new 60 Day Visa approved by now 😢

What country are you from, and don't you have a passport? If you have a travel document allowing you to enter the UK, chances are it won't be accepted, only in the UK.

all the documentation you emailed the embassy, needs to be uploaded into the application instead of being sent by email. The embassy will not regard anything, they will rather reject your application because it lacks the proper documentation. You will lose the applcation fee, and you can forget about getting your flight ticket refunded, as this is not within the responsibility of the Thai embassy

What’s a 2 week tourist visa. You’ll get 30 days visa exemption on arrival anyway. If the 2 weeks not is an error you’ll have to wait for the process. My visa took 7 working days.

If you didn’t supply the proper documents they will ask for more.

More than likely they will not check that email you sent. I would be very surprised if they did.

It can take anywhere from a week to a month. Most embassy’s are very busy now with many more applying for the 60 day tourist visa.

Can you just show up and get the 30 day exemption visa? If so, then apply for the 30 day extension if needed.

As for getting any sort of refund. That would be up to the airlines you booked with. Same with the hotels. Check their refund policies.

I doubt they would pay much attention to the email you sent, if any. But if there's information lacking in your application they will normally respond and ask for you to submit it. You only applied a week ago and London appear to be slow at the moment as it's high season, plus you may get greater scrutiny with a travel document rather than passport. It may take a while yet before they even look at your application
