Hi everyoneš¼, just an update ā Iām resubmitting my Thai Non-O visa application. I reached again the part with the āMiddle Nameā. Applicant Information shows in red.
1. Is it normal that it shows in red?
2.I donāt have a middle name ā what should I write?
This was the reason my last application was cancelled, and I donāt want to make the same mistake again.
Thanks a lot for your help! š

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant's Thai Non-O visa application indicates an issue with the 'Middle Name' field, which is highlighted in red, causing concern about potential application rejection. The main queries are whether it's normal for the field to show in red and what to enter if no middle name exists. Responses emphasize entering your name exactly as it appears on your passport and suggest either leaving the middle name field blank, entering 'N/A' or 'none', or possibly using a space or full stop. Several comments highlight the importance of careful data entry to avoid visa application rejections.

You must enter your full name exactly as it appears in your passport, matching each field accordingly. Even if your local naming convention separates given name, middle name, and surname, do not fill it in according to your local format. Also, do not rely on the auto-fill system, as I once had my given name mistakenly pulled into the surname field. My visa application was once canceled because the given name and surname I entered did not match my passport. In addition, if you do not have a middle name, just leave it blank, the system will automatically insert a dash. By following this, I successfully obtained my visa.

On my passport, my given name and surname are combined, so I must enter them under the āFirst Nameā field, even though in my local convention they are written separately. Furthermore, if there is no middle name or surname, simply leave it blank, the system will automatically replace it with a dash.

Check your data entry carefully BEFORE you submit the application, <- especially where you scan the MRZ (data page) of your passport and it auto fills the information, you can edit the auto-fill part.
Remember a data entry error results in a cancellation of your application, you lose the money and you have to apply again
This comes up on the Thai consulate in Tokyo's website when you go to click to the eVisa portal, I wish it came up on EVERY website that linked to eVisa because many many MANY people have had their applications rejected because of data errors
absolutely not! Anything you put in the box will be verified against your passport. So if your middle name is not N/A or none, DO NOT WRITE IT IN THERE.
