Should I leave the middle name field blank on my visa application if I don't have a middle name?

My passport dosn't have middle names.. only have given name and surnames.. lets say my given name is John and Smith McDonald are my surnames. When i uploaded biodata the autofill  left middle name field blank and filled the surnames with Smith McDonald.. Do i leave middle name field in blank or put Smith in it? Plzz really need some advice
