So I tried my 90 day online again. It's now the 5th straight denial. So weird it gave me the denial email on a Sunday. Went to immigration this morning and showed them the email. And 5 ladies huddled together to try to figure out why. The one lady knows me and she said she didn't do the denial because she is the one that looks at these as they come in. One honest lady said the software is set up to automatically deny in most cases. She said she has seen this for over the last year. This immigration office is in issan province. Just wondering what is the most online rejection you have received in a row. Didn't use to have this problem years back

It might be done outside your window im pretty sure you cant do it 10 days before your 90 days, and minimum 6 days before. So the window is about 4 days. I was only rejected onto three occasions. First and second I’ve done either before this 10 days left or couple days before my actual 90 days and third time also been rejected after i came back from abroad and thats my first 90 days after using re-entry. Ive been doing it for almost 8 years now.
After visiting Thailand regularly for 36 years, I can’t really understand why anyone would want to live there given the bureaucracy pertaining to visas
If its your 2nd 90 days report you need to make it 15 days before the limit time. That's what they told me when i went physically to make it after 2 denials online. 🙏🏻
A small error in entering the wrong information leads to rejection, well this was in my case, I was never rejected, untill I found out the last time the reason, ensure name middle name last name and dates are correctly entered
Only problem I ever had with the online 90 day report was when I mistakenly entered a wrong date. Realized my error as soon as I saw the rejection notice and resubmitted it. The second time it was approved right away. Just waiting to see what’s going to happen now that I have a new passport. Got them to update my 90 day report when I was in the office getting my stamps transferred, so the next time I need to see them will be for my annual extension. What blows my mind is that for the first renewal on a new passport, they want copies of every page from my old passport. Oddly they wanted the exact same thing to transfer the stamps. Leaves me wondering wtf are they doing with all that paper.
Will be sure to ask when I get that extension whether the next 90 day report can be done online or whether I need to come see them yet again. Why, because at that point there will have been at least one and possibly two 90 day reports done in person with the new passport. Just not sure if they only start counting after the first extension or not. Will wait and see.
It's easy enough to set up to automatically reject them based on your arrival date. So one would assume everything beyond that is a manual check.
With that said staffing levels need proof of being necessary, and in order to do that rejections keeps foot traffic coming in the door. Otherwise IO's might be transferred out or let go.
Normal for thailand no vare about your time. Just more money...my last trip..n I spend fuikin. Well over million baht this year.. they dont give a shit
I'll be doing mine in person, I'm retired and my time is my own. My office is never busy and there's never a queue. I may be old fashioned in some ways but I prefer the human contact that can be very valuable.
There is a specific window when the 90 day renewals can be successfully made. Outside of that window it will reject your online application. It’s easier for me to pop into my local immigration department and renew. It takes all of 2 minutes.
Chris Law they should just do away with it all together or just make a fee to bypass it I am sure many would always pick paying. Generate more money that agency already do.
I'm in Isan, Sisaket province. I have never tried to do online I drive the hour up to immigration, in and out in 5 minutes. it's a bit of a hassle but then we get to go shopping and go to a different restaurant than what we have around here.
this way I continue to have a facial presence. which could work against me someday but.... I prefer it this way. the immigration office there is nothing like in Bangkok.
Well it seems from others having issues as well that they need to rewrite software or is it designed on purpose to not make it easy on us. I have never lived in other country that even does 90 day reporting and I have lived in many countries.
Online sucks. Just pay immigration to take care. Cost you 1500 baht but safes you 10k on headache. Thailand seem to like scare away tourists and long term people who life here. And they wonder why every country around them are exploding in visitor numbers and thailand stays behind. Lol
blast_85 You don't need to pay immigration anything to do 90-Day reporting. and to not do it you're inviting issues with not following rules. you do you.
blast_85 believe me I am really starting to think the PM is anti foreign. Thailand is not the same as it was years ago. The fact the baht currency sucks with Thailand having one of the economic growth in se Asia but they think the baht is the strongest. It's a joke.
I consistently had a problem submitting my 90 day report online. Kept getting rejected but couldn't figure out why. I switched to submitting my report in person to the immigration department. Haven't had a problem since. Takes less than a minute
Martin Baker I usually do it 2 to 3 days early and always on a week day. They did today it will reject automatically if done on due date but she noticed it was early. There is something triggering the denial automatically even before it gets to a real person. They acknowledged it's strange because nothing has changed from when it did work years back.. She did it's not uncommon for the system to reject without a reason. She said there has been update to the software and sometimes the updates actually make it worse. She said a couple years back they had a major problem with software update but it has improved over the years but in my case it's the opposite. Some people never have a problem and others have the opposite experience. From this day on I will try one of those agency that say they can do all the 90 day reporting for you. Immigration is like playing the lottery 555. Some people win and others lose. My Thai wife gets upset more. And says it's the Thai way
Just to be clear, if one leaves for a while and returns, retirement extension, one starts counting 90 days for the report from date of reentry to Thailand? Correcto?
Stuart Chiverton in didn't have any problems for almost 4 years. To be honest I would rather just pay the fine every year not to deal with it. 2000 baht is worth it to me.
I have a DTV and I had this problem and found that the 90 day report can only be done online on the second time or more after entering the country. I.e. if you are on a retirement or long term visa, 1st time at immigration and thereafter online. But the DTV requires that you leave the country every 6 months so you can never do the 90 day report online. You can only do it at Immigration because every 90 days is the first entry into the country.
Andrew Bench I think it is quite reasonable. I have a DTV but I come here quite irregularly, unlike other visa holders who stay here for much longer at each entry.
Did it manually after my last travel. Tried online this week but got rejected today, saying I had to do the first report in person. - which I had done.
So theory and reality do not match.
Luckily the local office is pretty good at fast tracking the 90 day queue so I can usually get in and out in 20m. But still requires a mornings travel.
A perspective from a different office. Krabi only denied my first 90 day report with them. Since then all good. Even after changing to a new passport and getting the stamps swapped over, the first 90 day online report on the new passport was accepted.
I got denied after years of no problems. I found out when you leave Thailand and return it triggers requiring your first 90 day to be done in person again
I've submitted mine online every time and never had an issue, except the one time which was my fault as I had flown out and then not thinking I just tried to submit online. This time was a little slower in reply took 2 days but no problem at all. If you want to dm me hopefully I can help you. Ignore the woman in immigration saying that, of course they want you to physically go its their jobs.
But honestly never had a problem and I was sceptical in the beginning
Neil Walters thanks for the offer. As many people know tod Daniels. He has helped me on the past to make sure my tm30 was filed properly. He has walked me truths steps and help me print it out. It's not an issue with paper work for sure.. In my distinct they opened a new building near mackro so it's not a problem to go in. I will keep trying but I am sure number 6 denied is right around the corner. 555
Paul Bengtsson Ja, for nogle er det, bare fordi du har den nødvendige kapital, behøves du ikke at hovere, masser af opslag viser at folk har problemer med så simpelt en ting som f.eks. at åbne en bankkonto
Tom Kure Andersen i have a house there. Let's be honest Philippines is a shit hole compared to Thailand. Poverty level is unreal and crime is a major issue. My brother was robbed at knife point at ATM on first night visiting me. I lived in negros for many years. Only thing better there is the benefits for American veterans.
Matthew Plymale We have the right to our own opinion, that is fair. I just hear so many issues related to rejection, visas, visa runs, taxation, banks etc. in Thailand. Compared to Thailand I found filipines people very polite, helpful, visa matters easy solved, less traffic, no traffic fights etc., so for me it has been an easy move. Have a nice day
Tom Kure Andersen if you make things too easy you get an influx of undesirables. The system isn't that bad for people who have 800k in the bank which is fa in the scheme of things.
Phil Beer he isn't doing anything wrong. The Immigration Department is a tragic comedy of errors.I have experienced different interpretations of their rules from different offices, even different between different officers within the same building ffs 🙄
Phil Beer not an issue with address. Nothing has changed over the years. Same original address and I have a folder with all the past online printed out that worked just fine. I always bring all records and my wife with me. They really don't have an answer to why so many rejections. In just want to know what the record is for most online denial do I have a goal 555
Phil Beer sure have asked. They told me told the software automatically denied without a reason. The lady there knows me well. She said she normally reviews the application and she said she has no idea why it's being rejected. She manually went into the system with others today and no one has an answer. It's just as frustrating for them not able to give a reason. For some it can be a big deal if they live far away and have to take a bus. I have seen people post that sometimes they have to plan a 2 day trip for reporting. For me it's not a big deal
Sylvia Corley that's only in theory. The system is not reliable as you can see that so many other have issues for no apparent reason. immigration probably has someone monitoring these forum and know their software sucks ass and make no real attempt to fix. This should be such an easy thing to do online but it isn't. I bet if Japan designed the software they would never ever have an issue.
Sylvia Corley if you get a new passport in Thailand you have to leave the country and come back if you want to make the 90 days report online. So they told me at my immigration.
Adrian Plant in past never had a problem. But seriously, now 5 in a row. I own my own house and my tm 30 is always up to date. I always print it out and bring with me
Pete Williams Yes. You are correct. However using the word "should" here is a dead end. "should" suggests responsibility and accountabilty - can't have any of that!
Kim Nielsen in have yet to see any reasons. I know some people say there is one. But I can screen shot mine and guarantee there is no reason and even immigration said there is no stated reason
My last refusal for an online application simply stated the address was incorrect - because I staid at a hotel in Chiang Mai for two nights before returning home to Mae tang and that was the last registered address they had for me.
Pete Williams some people have said in the past they stated a reason. I have yet to see one for me. And all the ladies tried to find something when they typed in my number. Nothing showed up other than denied. The one lady said it was the software doing automatic denial. She did apologize and said more then likely it's going to keep happening. There was a lot of people there today for the same reason
Matthew Plymale Since this is an isolated situation and reckon it's gonna affect many others as mentioned. It for the immigration department to make good and not deny affected people for renewal. That said, knowing how civil departments work, worldwide Singapore included. We just have to cross fingers
I have a Thai id and never use my passport for this reason. They can't file a tm30 without a passport and I usually go to same hotels that never file anyways.
Matthew Matson Ive just looked at my ID card and my passport number isn't on it, but ive just translated what's on the back and it says Persons name appear on this ID card are prohibited from leaving the area where the card was issued except those with alien registration certificates. And that was from Roi-Et and i'am not staying up there for ever lol
