Non-ED expires April 25. Will I be able to convert to COVID extension, etc. the week of expiry (with cancellation letter etc.)? Or do I need to go to immigration (Samui for me) prior to March 30 to cover my a$$?
Trying to understand how this March 30 COVID extension deadline affects visas expiring after March 30.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about converting their Non-ED visa, which expires on April 25, to a COVID extension before the application deadline of March 30. Commenters advise that any COVID extension application must be made by March 30 and suggest obtaining a cancellation letter from the school if switching from an Ed Visa. They clarify that applying for the COVID extension may commence on the application date and that having a TM 30 form filed for the current address is important. Finally, they note that working under the COVID extension is not permitted.
You need to understand that if you are going to apply for COVID EXTENSION as it will start on the day you apply and will lose all the time you have left on your current Ed visa stamp
And
As you are still on the original 90-day stamp from the Visa I don't think you need a cancellation letter to switch over to a covid extension.
