TLDR : Answer Summary
The PCR test for entry into Thailand should be taken within 72 hours before your international flight departure, not before arrival in Thailand. This is confirmed by responses referencing the Thai embassy's guidelines.

Yes thank

You.

Thai embassy website

“they are only required to provide the COVID-19 RT-PCR test that is taken and conducted within 72 hours before their international flight from their country of departure.”

No more than 72 h when you arrive in Thailand

not so. It’s from your first international flight to get to Thailand. If it takes you 8 hours to fly from one coast of America to the other, and then get on an international flight to Thailand then that’s when the results start from. It’s not immigration checking the 72 hours, it’s your airline.

Yes. From your first international flight.
