The comments emphasize the importance of reporting the stolen passport to the police, obtaining a replacement from the embassy, and addressing the overstay issue to avoid severe penalties. *** file a police report for stolen passport

*** visit your embassy and ask them to issue an express emergency travel document

*** buy a one-way ticket back home and head straight to the BKK Airport

*** before exit Immigration, do not use the automated gates but head straight for a manned counter. Hand them the police report and the emergency travel document and your flight ticket out

*** pay the overstay fine which is 500 Baht per day, receive the small stamp inside the travel document

*** then get out of Dodge as fast as can

you can return to your home country without a passport. i have done it, no problem. or get emergency one done same day at your embassy. Ignore haters who make unhelpful comments, bad things happen to everyone at some stage no matter how "careful" you may or may not be. I have a friend who lost 4 passports in 2 years!! Have had 2 stolen myself. And 600 euro "fine" from 3 big burly bearded Russian police for NOT carrying my "papers", despite hotel insisting leave it in safe too dangerous to take out. Giant scam was common but only a handful of brave fools would go now, this was 2010. And ONLY cash, had to drive around several ATMs to find working one that gave the money - i said want to go to police station, he just loaded a round into the Kalashnykov and pointed it at us ... they got the cash we got the hell out of there next day, would never EVER go back.

Not sure how losing your passport is connected to your overstay.

Did you report to police and immigration,?

If not you have a problem.,they simply won't believe you.

This post makes zero sense to me. Blaming an overstay on loosing your passport? At this point I can't see anyone helping you. These are important issues that should have been taken care of immediately as they happened.

If this is true story, there is a risk going to the police station to report it stolen if already in overstay. They can arrest you on the spot and be banned from Thailand simply from being in overstay. A new passport from embassy may take a little time which he may not have. An emergency travel document may be quicker / safer and then get back to home country asap while paying the 500 baht per day. Yes talk to your embassy as people already mentioned. The longer the overstay becomes, it becomes harder to come back, get new visa etc, so need to weigh up time to get replacement passport to go to a nearby country or emergency travel document to go back to home country.

As soon as you realised your passport was missing you should have done this, 1st report it to police and get a report. 2nd contact your embassy. Why the fuck.would you just wait. You have created your own problems now. This could have been sorted in a few days. Some embassy's on the same day. Good.luck but it seems you dont have the intelligence to travel alone.

wouldn’t say good luck to someone who brought this all on themselves, who wouldn’t report a passport stolen strain away unless you are deliberately trying to overstay 🤦‍♂️

I call Bullshit on the stolen passport..

He has probably met the love of his life in some bar and been too busy with her to worry about overstaying..

Now he has finally run out of time or money and made up the story of the stolen passport in some hope he won't get in big trouble with immigration for deliberately overstaying..

Heard these kinds of stories before about idiots like this who try to scam or abuse the system..

It won't help him as immigration are tough on overstaying especially if its a long overstay of weeks or months..

Let's hope he is banned from Thailand for a long time because he is definitely too stupid and ignorant to travel overseas..

The right direction is...

Police report of stolen passport (should be done immediately you know its stolen)

Go to your embassy with a copy of your Police report and request a replacement travel document..

Once you get the replacement please leave Thailand and go home ASAP as you are too stupid for overseas travel..

Get your replacement passport as quickly as possible and leave Thailand and pay the overstay fine before you get a ban from Thailand for many years..

Waiting so long you have screwed yourself and don't expect any sympathy from immigration or police..

They have heard every possible story and excuse there is on overstaying multiple times before..

This is either fake or someone who shouldn't be traveling. How do you get your passport stolen when it shouldn't leave the safe in your hotel room?

I will give you my guess on what is happening..

He has traveled to Thailand and met the love of his life in some Bar in Pattaya..

He has remained in Thailand with his new girlfriend way past his visa exemption entry period and no doubt run out of money by now..

So he has made up a story about being robbed of passport so it doesn't seem like he deliberately overstayed ..

He has probably also contacted family to send him more money using the same "I had my passport and money stolen" so please help me..

Just so he can stay longer with the new girlfriend..

I have heard this story before a couple of times.

I know a father who ended up traveling to Thailand to get his son to come home after getting a similar story and sending money several times and he just wouldn't leave...

If this is the case this guy is a complete idiot and deserves to get banned from returning to Thailand for a very long time..

You should of gone straight to the police station and reported it stolen, then informed your embassy so to replace the stolen one. That way the number can't be used. Also you have covered all the angles. If you didn't do these steps you could be in all sorts of trouble. Heavy fine maximum 20,000 Baht, being banned from Thailand, that can be up to 10 years.

Help you with what exactly? Only your embassy can replace your passport. Then on the way out of Thailand you'll pay 500 baht per day for overstay. If your overstay gets too long you'll be banned from Thailand. If you're stopped by the police during overstay, you'll be banned from Thailand.

I just want to ask the right person a few questions really. I’m coming up to being here 90 days was hoping to pay my fine for overstay then to travel and return to Thailand soon so I need a full passport not etd, I love put it off to long thinking they would just deport me and would ruin all my plans

there really are no good options for you. You need to report your passport stolen to the police, then take the police report to your embassy and request a new passport or an emergency travel document and leave Thailand ASAP. Assuming you make it to the airport safely you pay the overstay fine and leave. Being discovered on overstay other than when leaving the country isn't something you want to contemplate
