Since Jan 1st 2024 I've used my two border runs allowance. I've flew out of thailand by air once to return & I got refused entry ?.. I'm a UK citizen & was under the impression can enter thailand by air more than once by air ?. Caused me alarm & distress, Dmk held me over night kept my passport & forced me fly out the country to Malaysia the following day . Does this sound about right or was I treated unfairly & what help can I get to return to thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual, a UK citizen, experiences denial of entry into Thailand after using their two border run allowances. They were held overnight at DMK airport and sent back to Malaysia. A commenter explains that repeatedly entering Thailand on a visa-free basis may have led to this situation. They recommend obtaining a tourist visa from a Thai consulate in Malaysia for a better chance of re-entry.

I was actually on my way back to thailand to start process for retirement visa . That's the reason I flew out to return as I was informed this is the process?

Did you originally enter on a Tourist Visa or did you enter Visa Free? If it was the latter it definitely wouldn't be totally unheard of as that would be 4th visa free entry and you would have been looking at near 8 months of continuous living on visa free entry and extensions. And you didn't really say what was going on last year so if you were in Thailand end of last year that looks even worse.

If you shuffled the deck differently it would of been better. Fly in-> fly out/in again 'then' do your 2 land border allowances. That would garnish you 8 months.

Sadly for you Shane Jones there is no rule about how many times you can get in by air on free stamp entry. They can pull you aside, question you and/or deny you entry when ever they want to

I think it was the fact you flew in, then you used 2 land entries, then you tried to fly out and back again; I mean even without taking any 30 day extensions you would have been in country 3 months on just the original flight in, then the two 30 day border bounces, AND if you took 30 day extensions on those you could have been her SIX months before you tried to bounce out and back by air

So since Jan 1st you've bounced out and back 2 times and gotten the free 30 day visa exempt entries by land you're allowed for this year?

AND

You tried to fly in but were denied entry and shipped back to Malaysia?

Sounds totally right (y)

you were denied entry based on the fact they think you're living here on free entry stamp/30 day extensions. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

You were totally treated fairly as they let you go to a nearby country rather than making you buy a ticket back to the country your passport is from ๐Ÿ˜ฎ which they could have done if they wanted.

You can go to a thai consulate in Malaysia, meet the requirements for a real tourist visa to thailand, apply for it, wait the processing time, get the visa sticker stuck into your passport and then you can enter thailand by a land border to get stamped in for 60 days

Most people keep back a free land border entry just in case they do get denied entry by air so they can at least cross by land and get in free stamp. You don't have that luxury. You get a tourist visa and come in by land (wouldn't come in by air even WITH a valid tourist visa as you run a higher chance of being pulled aside from the entry/stay history)
