Im currently at the Mukdahan-Savannakhet border, trying to go to Savannakhet to change my visa; however the officer didnt allow me to leave thailand without the work permit cancellation document, which my company failed to provide; my visa expires today. What can i do?

's response, it seems that you cannot stamp out of the country until you cancel your work permit and extension of stay.

And in looking at your previous posting history, it seems you were advised to do this BEFORE you went to get a new visa :O

I am sorry you're stuck at the border, the only thing you can do is get your company to fax the proof of your work permit being canceled to the passport control office at the border and THEN stamp out. Otherwise you're going to have to overstay and get the stuff done on your own.

I thought that I said you need to cancel your current extension BEFORE you left.

You probably could have flown out and been okay without canceling it, but at the border it's a different story.

Sorry, contact your company and get that cancellation of work permit OR you're not getting out today.

every border is same, not cancel wp n not void extension, stay inside, unless you fly out, it that regard IO thinks yu not come back, but in case person apply new work permit later on , that case will come up again.

from his post, no he did not do anything and his company as well. He can not do anything, if he lucky his company can fax the document to Mukdahan Immigration. If not return to local Labor and Immigration to do the correct process.

If you're on a visa (the initial 90 day entry of a single Non-B or any of the 90 day entries on a multi-entry Non-B) you should just be able to stamp out

However IF you are on an extension of stay, you needed to GO cancel the work permit and then go to the immigration office and cancel your extension before you tried to leave the country :O
