TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties contacting the Hong Kong embassy by phone or email to inquire about their visa situation. They consider going to the embassy in person despite concerns about access. The discussion reveals a related issue about applying for a spousal DTV visa while still in Thailand and whether it's necessary to leave the country to submit the application.
Do you mean the Royal Thai consulate in a Hong Kong? If yes I’m having the same problem. Wanted to ask a question before I go ahead and book flights.
In case anyone here knows, do I need to be out of Thailand to apply for spousal DTV visa?
My husband got his one already in Hong Kong and he moved to Bangkok last month with his DTV visa. I arrived with 60 day visa exemption but I’m heading back to Hong Kong in a week or so to finalise our move and get my spousal DTV visa.
My question is we’re applying for my spousal visa under his e visa account. Can we submit the application while we’re in Thailand? Then I fly to HK briefly to finish moving, and come back to Thailand with the DTV visa?
Or do I need to be out of the country when my husband submits my application?
I just want to know how many months I need to join the muay thai gym to meet the enquiry in HK embassy. As some embassy allow people to join just one month. And I wanted to try different gym

You don't need to contact them for that. "1 month" of training and 6 months can effectively cost the same. By this I mean 1 hour per week of 6 months once a week is equal to 1 month of full time training. In my case the gym just sold a 6 month package which sounds better than 1 month. It's kind of like how many slices in a pizza - it makes no difference as the pizza size is still the same. I was a pizza maker before and this question used to annoy me lol
I’m serious about Muay Thai,so my pizza is much expensive

Anonymous participant - This is a common issue with all consulates, not just Thai. They are not customer service oriented. Foreign service officers are stuck doing consular work their first few years before they get to move on to policy roles. You have a better chance of searching to see what others on here may of done. However, I believe there are few reports related to Hong Kong, because only residents can apply there, so you don’t see thr same amount of traffic
i went to the embasst got the answer now, he said you don't need to be hk resident to apply in here

Anonymous participant OK that's good they told you directly that you don't need to be a resident to apply... There was a report of a non-resident successful application a while ago... But you have HKID so it doesn't matter.
