What should I consider for booking flights and accommodations while applying for a Thai visa and is remote work acceptable?

Hey I have a couple of questions about the visa and I will appreciate some help

1. During the application via the e-visa platform. It asks for plane tickets and accommodations. How should I approach this? I was under the impression that I would get the visa first and go whenever I want for how long I want (without exceeding the 180 days per year). Shall I book something refundable for how long and when (relative to the visa application date) and do I need a round trip ticket?

2. I'm working as a software engineer full time (permanent) in the Netherlands (not a european citizen), and I'm allowed to work remotely with my company although I have limited days per year that I can work from abroad (the company is flexible with that). I don't plan to stay working with the same company for long and perhaps will also leave the country (Netherlands). Will this be eligible for the application or do I need a fully remote job? The company uses "NHG employer’s statement 2024-1 2.0" for the employment statement, which doesn't specify the remote work eligibility.
Answer summary
The user seeks advice on two main points regarding their Thai visa application process. First, they question the requirement to provide plane tickets and accommodation details while applying for a visa through the e-visa platform, wondering if they should book refundable options and if a round-trip ticket is necessary. Secondly, they inquire if their job arrangement as a software engineer working remotely from a non-EU country qualifies them for the visa, particularly given that their employment statement does not clarify remote work eligibility.

For three years, I did it on my own and had a long A O visa. Had to leave the country every three months. I tried to get. The Non O visa but it was a tiring process. I contacted Thai Visa center. And from step one to getting the visa the service is great. Don’t bother what it cost. If you compare it with my first three years defeat I got now cost me less because I don’t have to leave every three months again thanks to. The Non O retirement visa. I have a multi entry because I sometimes have to go to Europe or other countries, but this has no concern of keeping my visa. I will stay. With Thai Visa center. As long as I need a visa because the service is super.

Why not just do it yourself? It’s not difficult. But if you have the money to spend and don’t have the time to deal with it, go for it. They are only going to forward documents to the embassy that you’ve already submitted to them. It doesn’t make sense to me.

SunnyOlive60 you are wrong. They are the best there is out here. Services are exceptional, quick, and within the compared cost parameters (also depends upon services required).
THAI ******************************
THAI ******************************
SunnyOlive60 Our pricing depends on the current situation and the complexity of the process at the time.

For example, our yearly retirement extension service is currently 16,000 THB. Three months ago, it was 14,000 THB, and even 9 years ago we were offering the same service for 14,000 THB.

If we adjusted purely based on standard inflation over the last 9 years, the price today would be closer to 17,000 THB. We do our best to keep our rates as low as possible, and we occasionally announce special promotions through Line that allow clients to lock in discounted rates up to 6 months in advance.

There are also cases where service costs have increased due to additional requirements and coordination efforts. One example is bank account opening services, where the process has become more complicated and time-consuming over the years. Rather than stop offering these services entirely, we continue to provide a pathway for clients, although the costs are unfortunately higher than before.

If this is the type of service you are referring to, we generally recommend applying for a Non-O visa in your home country first. This allows you to open a bank account independently in Thailand and avoid the higher costs associated with in-country assistance services.

Very well written, but everybody knows a sales pitch when they hear it.

Pattaya Baht bus was 10 Baht since at least 2012 & only recently has gone up to 15 Baht.

So tell us, for the 16K Baht, exactly how much time it takes your employee to obtain a typical yearly retirement permission to stay,,,,,, and how much time, and effort the expat would save as opposed to doing it on their own ?

@Alan *********
Our rates reflect the level of service we provide and are comparable to other agencies in Bangkok offering similar assistance.

Submitting on your own will always be the more affordable option, and that’s exactly why this group exists. We actively encourage DIY submissions by directing anyone who prefers to handle the process themselves here.

Also, our response was not intended as a sales pitch. It was specifically addressing the claim that we regularly increase our prices. While pricing has changed at times over the years, we have also reduced our rates back to levels comparable to what we charged nearly 10 years ago.

I got quoted 45,000 THB for retirement visa processing by a service in Chiangmai. Does that sound about right?

They would have me come in, as an American who currently lives in China, on a tourist visa then they help me convert that to Non Im O then retirement. Btw I already have a bank account at a Thai bank that I’ve had for over 15 years and it has more than 800K baht in it for several years already.
