Hi, applying this visa for the first time. O visa to stay with a Thai family member. The intent is forever but what do we put for the intended date of departure? We will go to the immigration office to apply for an extension anyway. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the Thai O visa to stay with a family member, you can put any date for your intended departure; however, it's advisable to choose a date within 90 days. The date isn't binding, and it's essential to consider proof of onward travel, such as bus tickets, which can be used without actually traveling.

I always put a date of 59 days or less.. I don't know that it matters. One thing to note is, if you need to show proof of onward travel. In the past, I have used bus tickets and just don't get on the bus.

You can put any date as they are in no way binding

Because it's a 90 day visa, put your departure date within 90 days. There's no requirement that you stick to the date you put.
