TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler with a Brazilian passport arriving in Thailand was initially denied entry due to not possessing a yellow fever vaccination. The discussion revealed that travelers from yellow fever-infected areas, including Brazil, must have an International Health Certificate as proof of vaccination to enter Thailand. Several options were suggested, including showing proof of residence in the U.S. where the vaccination may not be required, or seeking a vaccination at a local hospital. Ultimately, the traveler was allowed entry, indicating that communication with immigration can be pivotal.

Okay, I would say he should contact the brazilian consulate here in Bangkok and see what they advise.

If he's denied entry, it's totally up to the air carrier on where he goes. Some let him to go any place they fly, some make you go back to where you flew in from and some make you go back to country of passport origin :O

Unfortunately (seeing as brazilians get in for a 90 day visa exempt entry) it's NOT a thai VISA question and more of a "I didn't bother to check before I got on the plane to thailand" sort of thing.

I think you have some good info. Good Luck (y)

Here's the consulate

@El***
brought up a good point:

This is on that MFA travel thing:

As for those nationals of the countries listed below but who have not travelled from/through those countries, such a certificate is not required. However, they should possess concrete evidence showing that their domicile is not in an infected area so as to prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

I would hope that IF he can show he's been in the US for all those years that he could get in without the vaccination.

If they deny entry airline will have to fly him back to USA...Unless he can convince Thai Immigration to fly to neighboring Asian country...get shot for Yellow fever...if that is possible. ??? Have to research the YF vaccine process.

3. Travellers travelling from/through countries which have been declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas must acquire an International Health Certificate verifying the receiving of a Yellow Fever vaccination. This includes nationals of Brazil, Guyana and Suriname.
