Can my child get a DTV visa to attend primary school in Thailand instead of a student visa?

Hi everyone finally got my DTV visa approved. I submitted my application at the Thai Embassy in Canberra Australia. It was such a long wait, but it’s officially approved now.

It seems they only approve the visa a few days before your intended travel date.

Just a quick question, my son is going to study in Thailand. Can he get a DTV visa to attend primary school there or does he need to apply a student visa? I heard student visas need to be renewed every year which is a hassle while DTV lasts five years and is much easier.

Originally I planned to apply for a student visa for my kid and a Guardian Visa for my wife. Now that I have a DTV can I apply for dependent DTV visas for both my wife and child instead?
