Hello, I am helping my grandmother extend her tourist visa. She has already paid for the normal 30 day extension. We want to go and do the 60 day extension that the Thai government is offering until the end of May. Does anyone know what paperwork is needed when we go to immigration to receive the visa? I went there today to ask and was given mixed answers.
We are also in the process of switching her to a retirement visa but hoping for some more time with this possible extension.
TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your grandmother's tourist visa to the 60-day option currently offered by the Thai government, you'll need to provide similar paperwork as the 30-day extension, plus a couple of additional forms. Key documents include: a copy of the passport data page, a passport photo, proof of filing a TM30, a signed TM6 departure card, and a signed copy of the latest entry stamp. You'll also need to fill out forms TM7 for the extension application, STM2 to acknowledge overstay rules, and a form explaining your reason for the extension. Note that some locations, like Phuket, may have specific requirements regarding document size and format. The fee for the extension is 1,900 baht.
