Hi all, so I have a friend his visa got denied, he’s Nigerian. The email they sent didn’t state the reason.
What’s the best possible solution for him? Because he had submitted all the necessary documentation, and even went for a physical interview.
Can his visa get an appeal or what can he do about it? Thank you all

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Nigerian's visa to Thailand was denied without any reason provided, despite submitting all necessary documents and attending a physical interview. The comments suggest that there is no formal appeal process and that the individual might consider applying through another embassy. However, certain citizenships, including Nigeria, may face additional scrutiny and restrictions. It's advised to check specific requirements related to applications from Nigeria, as they may vary significantly. Additionally, contacting local Thai immigration or seeking guidance about potential reasons for rejection is recommended before reapplying.
Was his application at the embassy in Abuja? He could try elsewhere but many embassies take at least a month to process applications from Nigerians and require police certificate authenticated by both the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai Embassy in Nigeria
not sure but from other experiences I have heard they have some reason for rejecting him. Could be financial or something he said in the interview. Best to travel to another country
i bet to differ. I am Ghanaian, and I have DTV visa. I know other Ghanaians teaching with work permit. It has nothing to do with nationality. It about requirements. Thailand has been very strict these days to to certain activities of foreigners illegal activities. Your friend needs guidance. Contact the local Thai immigration and inquire about it.
unfortunately many citizens from that country have ruined it for most—so thailand not keen on approving visas for Nigerians—did you do a visa support letter for him—that means you accept responsibility while in thailand
To apply from a different country, your friend would need to travel there first. That seems like a lot for a tourist visa. Maybe your friend needs to cancel this vacation and apply in a few months
different immigration official might review it. If they are set on going to Thailand it is their only chance. And it is a long shot. Once refused it only gets harder.
- No immigration officers will review it. Instead they are reviewed by a consular (MoFA). While it might land on a different consular’s desk, I believe they are signed up (or rejected) by senior members, so likelihood there are fewer who sign/reject.
