TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to stay in Thailand after their student visa expires in mid-September. They are wondering if it's possible to obtain another visa following the expiration of their current student visa.

I'd imagine the volunteer visa
@Jim ********
is referring to is where you give your passport and a pile of baht to an agency, they take it to a province you don't live in, use an immigration office you don't go to and get you a volunteer visa/extension from a foundation you can't pronounce let alone intend to volunteer at :O

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with those b/s, back-door, under-the-table, wink-n-nod volunteer visa/extensions, they are real stamps from real immigration offices by real immigration officers. It's just gotten by "alternate" means.

Try and avoid the "volunteer" visa by alternate means, my friend is on one and they are charging him more and more for his 90 day reporting, once you go down that route your stuck to that agent and he has the "power" over you money wise. Better go to school and learn some Thai get something in return for your money.

Oh ok... Good to know, i understand. But i'm already learning thai until middle of september, i'm looking for a solution for after that 😕

They might still be doing covid extensions by then, ask around for something other then teaching, best of luck to you.

I think about all the possibilities but I have no experience as a teacher (I am a landscape engineer) and I do not think that my level of English is enough to be a teacher.

Thank you for your answer. Yes i ear a lot about volunteers visa but I thought that with this type of visa you could / should still volunteer (which doesn't bother me).

If there are another solution, not with "alternate" means, I would prefer. But if there is no choice, why not. I'm especially afraid of getting ripped off or giving my passport to anyone. I have no contact for this type of "alternative" visa. Thanks for theses explenation and for your time :)
