Hi there,

Have a query about the ED visa and was not able to find the specific answer in the search function.

Once you are issued the ED visa while outside of Thailand, within which timeframe do you need to enter Thailand.

Let’s say the ED visa starts July 1, are you to enter the country on that date and start at the same time at the school. Not sure that is even possible.

Or is the ED visa just the start of when you enter Thailand and you setup the time with the school thereafter to join their program.

How has your experience been on this topic?

Many thanks,

Jan

TLDR : Answer Summary
The ED visa, once issued, has a validity of 3 months for entry into Thailand. For example, if the visa start date is July 1, you must enter Thailand within 3 months from this date. Upon entry, you will be granted a stay for 90 days, regardless of when you begin your program at the school.

IF you get a single entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa it is valid for 3 months from the date they issue it.

What that means is you have 3 months to ENTER thailand and when you do you will be stamped in for 90 days
