TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discusses the protocols involving heat gun temperature screenings in Thailand, particularly measuring body temperature at entrances to malls and other locations. Commonly, a temperature above 37.5°C raises concerns, with different responses based on the specific temperature readings. Many share experiences of fluctuating temperatures due to external factors like air conditioning or recent activity, suggesting a broad variability in normal body temperature. There is a consensus that while certain thresholds are set (e.g., above 37°C may require further checks), these screenings often have limitations in accuracy.

Above 37.5 means fever.

In Macro they told me 38 would be a problem. One guy got 37 and was told to wait outside for 10 mins. He then got 35. These guns measure the outside body temp.

The tep sensor guns are not accurate in absolute terms. They are only accurate in relative terms. This person is hoter than that person 35.2. AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhh that one is not accurate unless you are dead. Mine regularly registers low. For my porpose testing the temp of hot hide glue accurate enough. To get accurate??? AAhhhh would you want the security gaurd at macro cleaning off the under the toungue unit he just used on Somchai & stickin it in yer mouth???

Well our experience at Makro was our small daughter was just over the temperature. Provably because she came out of air con onto the hot motorbike. She had to sit and wait for a few minutes until her temp dropped.

In Chiang Rai above 37.5 you are not allowed in certain places, but that does not mean it is a fever. Usual body temp for most people seems to be 36.1 to 37.2.

I am in Singapore which has been doing temp checks regularly. Below 37 allowed into work. 37 to 37.5 sit down in quarantine area 1 and take temperature again when rested. Above 37.5 quarantine area 2 and call medic

It is just for show. Some say 37.5 is a fever but the average body temp is between 37-38. Some people naturally run hotter than others. Many factor a come into play. Weight, drinker, smoker how long you’ve been in the heat. The other day I got checked going into maya mall and I was 32.3 and my buddy was 31.2 we where technically dead due to hypothermia. Hahaha 😂

A cough for someone that has bronchitis is not an accurate reading. A runny nose is not an accurate reading.

My point is to say that we need accurate tests with quick results.

The virus often doesn’t present symptoms of fever.
