What documents are needed to extend a tourist visa in Bangkok and what is the best time to arrive?

I have found that most tourists on 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa entries don't get up all that early.

In the morning section K (extensions on 30 day visa exempt entries) and section J (extensions on tourist visa entries) are almost empty. They are JAMMED with people starting at about 11 and running almost the whole rest of the day.

I'd say, IF you're not going to go at 6AM, that the best time to get there is about 9:00-9:15. That gives the people who waited all morning time to get in, get queues and get to their section and you can walk right up to the queue desk, get a queue and you'll be out of there in 45 minutes at the most.

Also you can just go to the copy shops down stairs, they will fill out your form, make your copies, take a passport photo of you if you need it for just a few baht.

The fee for 30 day extension if 1,900 Thai baht

"Umm, unless I'm wrong, it's one passport photo stuck to the filled out TM.7 form and copies of your passport data page, your visa or entry stamp & your TM.6 departure card :)"
