# πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ DTV Approved - Freelancer - Vienna embassy

Hey, I just wanted to share my recent experience with applying for DTV through Vienna embassy.

I am really thankful for many already answered questions in this group, and for available pdf templates I randomly found uploaded here.

After I compiled all supporting documents, the process was super fast.

πŸ“… Applied: 12th February

πŸ“ Embassy: Vienna

πŸ“… Additional documents: 12th February ( 1 item )

βœ… Approved: 17th February

Country: πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡° Slovakia ( No TH embassy in my country )

Here is structured list of uploaded documents as I put them into supporting form in my application:

Proof of funds

* Section cover page explaining details of incoming funds - I have separate business and personal accounts

* Bank statements showing funds in my personal bank account

* Last 6 invoices as my income from work

Proof of work:

* Section cover page - Here I specified I have no working relations with any company in Thailand

* Portfolio - it was more like CV with details what I do and for how long

* Contract aggreement

* Letter of no objection for remote work signed by my client

* Self-employment registration

Proof of accommodation:

This section was confusing so I put there what I thought was right. Also it's based on previous experiences with Vienna embassy posted in this group.

* Section cover page

* Scanned National ID

* Passport page with stamp leaving Thailand

* Booked flight tickets from Vienna to Bangkok

* Rental agreement as proof of having accommodation in Thailand

* Recent phone bill, stating my current address in Slovakia - I didn't even bother to translate this

Additional documents as requested by the embassy

* Criminal record certificate

I had all documents translated into English, but only few were done through certified agency. I really wonder how much the agencies rely on AI these days.

This took forever to compile and upload, I rebooked my flights twice πŸ˜… But approved in 4 working days total. πŸ˜€

Congratulations. And I hope they will ask a criminal certificate to everybody from now on. Unfortunately, some criminals got the DTV in the past, as there were no criminal checks.

Pardon me but that's not correct. There have been no reported DTV visa holders who subsequently were arrested as criminals in Thailand. To assert so is improper.

The criminal record certificate requested by the Thai Embassy is rare and not seen before. It is not an usually requested.

it was on the news. If you can wait 10-15 minutes I'll share a link.

The person I'm talking about didn't commit a crime in Thailand, but there were wanted for in another country and yet managed to get a DTV and come here.

I work for a news agency myself, so I never talk about news I can't back up with actual links to reliable sources.

thanks for sharing the news story of the DTV visa holder. It's rare to see a Thai Embassy or Consulate request a police clearance certificate.

It's standard for those who seek to get the OA visa for retirement in your home country.

And one rotten egg does not cast a shadow on the actions of law abiding persons seeking to get the DTV visa or any other Thai Visa.

This is one case but NOT the only one I have read about in major English-language news:

Again there's been ONGOING activity by Thai Immigration working with other international Police agencies to identify those who have entered Thailand.

To say that the DTV visa is the reason is unfair to All who seek to enter Thailand with the Thai Visa or any other method of entry and stay.

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
