A Report on Chiang Mai. My first 1 year retirement extension of 90 day Non-0 RE.
29 April. Entered 9:30am, finished 3:30pm.
2 things encountered.
My wife's transaction record from Green Kasikorn Bank, printed in black and white only had a blue stamp on the last page and the Checking staff did not see it. She asked, where is the original?
So during lunch we went to the Green Bank where we had the original print out and asked them, can they print it on color letterhead like the bank certificate?
They said, no this is the original, and showed us the blue stamp on the last page. We asked, Can you put your blue stamp on every page for immigration? They did.
Lesson.Make sure that the bank transaction has stamps on every page in color.
Inside the building, the staff asked to see my original Bank passbook. Because the 3 months transaction record contained more data than my passbook update, they asked, where is your old passbook, do you have it.? I didn't have it on hand, it was at the house. Fortunately they accepted my application.
Lesson. If your bank Passbook has changed within the last few months then bring the old one in case they ask for it.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The report details the author's experience of obtaining a retirement extension for a 90-day Non-O visa at the Chiang Mai Immigration office. It highlights two key lessons: ensure that bank transaction records have color stamps on every page to satisfy immigration requirements, and always bring the original bank passbook, especially if it has changed recently. The comments provide additional advice on managing finances to simplify the immigration process.
