What is the turnaround time for getting a new passport from the American embassy in Bangkok? I am trying to avoid a trip back to the States before my visa expires on June 24. 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The turnaround time for receiving a new passport from the American embassy in Bangkok is generally between 2-4 weeks if applied by mail, although it may take longer if applied directly in the U.S. Recent updates suggest the processing time could now be 5-6 weeks. For those needing to renew passports quickly due to visa expiry, it is advised to apply as early as possible considering potential delays.

You can contact the embassy directly....

Took 23 days from the day that I mailed it in to the Embassy using Thai postal service EMS to the day that it was returned via EMS. That was about 2 months ago.

I paid with a USA debit card but you can use a Thai card also. You also have to get a hundred baht cashiers check

Well I was applying for my retirement visa and had the two full pages but I had a minor setback that forced me to do a border bounce to Laos. Now I don’t have the 2 pages required and I was just wondering if the turnaround time would be sufficient within the 25 days i have left.

if I was a gambler I’d say yes. Sent mine 3 days before Songkran and it took 30 days

Here you can get it back in 2-3 weeks. In the US it will take on average 3 months. Your pushing it close here.

3-4 weeks if you follow the instructions correctly and apply by mail.

Probably longer if you're in the US
