Hey All.

We were going to get DTV's ( Muay Thai and Cooking) but I have landed myself some IT consulting work. The work meant I had to open a Ltd company . I pay myself very little and will put most of the income into my SIPP. The work is remote for 1 EU client who couldn't care less where I worked from.

Should I get the Muay Thai DTV? or a remote worker DTV? Will having a company that was opened only in April be an issue?

Original Plan :

Soft Power DTVs

British Passport Holders , Applying from London.

£25K each in Nationwide Savings accounts (held since March)

Applying next week (after holiday) for 21st September flight.

One way flights booked ages ago.

AirBNB will be booked this weekend for 2 weeks to give us time to find an apartment.

Help would be appreciated.
Answer summary
The user is contemplating between obtaining a Muay Thai DTV or a remote worker DTV after securing IT consulting work while setting up a Ltd company. They have plans to reside in Thailand temporarily, needing guidance on the implications of their new business and visa options, especially considering they have a one-way flight booked and sufficient savings. Responses suggest that if the user will work remotely from Thailand, the Workation DTV is required, but the Soft Power DTV might offer a simpler application process. Comments also point out that having a young company shouldn't hinder the application significantly.

Why are you posting anonymously?

Living in Thailand isn’t the same as visiting. The minority live here properly

I live in the UK, and always will for at least 180 days a year. Thailand is the base but there are at least 3 countries I intend to visit in this next trip. The DTV is the cheapest way to do this. I think.

You should be fine

Just document your work / how you get paid / how you plan to support yourself

My contract with the client ends in December. on the 1% chance it doesn't then we have plenty of funds. But will the contract having a final date be an issue?

Participant(e) anonyme I only showed one customer who paid me one time 100€ ~ as a « proof »

It was enough so I think you should be fine, you meet all possible requirements? It shouldn’t go wrong

If you want a headache, lots of admin and additional documents, choose Workcation. If you want the simpler option, choose Soft Power.

If you will work remotely from Thailand then a Workation based DTV is the only legal way to do so

London don't state the application route like Penang. So you'll get a DTV either way. Up to you how.
