TLDR : Answer Summary
The time taken to get an ED visa from a Thai Immigration Office in Thailand can vary and requires documentation from a registered school in Thailand. It is crucial to clarify whether the application is being made from inside Thailand or through an embassy outside Thailand, as there are no Thai embassies within Thailand.

I would imagine if you take viagra, you can get "ED" visa in maybe 4 hours. If the duration of visa is longer than 8 hours, consult your doctor

I'm relatively new to the group so I haven't seen it yet. I mean, it is pretty obvious, so I do concede that someone must have said it earlier

There are no Thai Embassies in Thailand.

There is no Thai embassy inside Thailand.

Are you applying for an ED visa from a Thai embassy in another country?

Are you applying for an ED visa from an immigration office in Thailand?

Or have you contacted a school yet inside Thailand? You need documentation from your school to apply both outside of Thailand and inside of Thailand.

oh yes from the immigration in Thailand, yes I already paid for the course at the school. I'm going to go to do finger print at the royal thai police on this thursday.

it usually takes 2-3 weeks for the school to apply to Ministry of education and get approval.

Then once you have that and the documents from your school you'll go to immigration and apply for the ED visa. They will give you an "under consideration" stamp that says to return in 2-3 weeks and you'll get your full ED visa at that time.
