Have any Lao passport holders applied for and received the DTV? Planning to apply for soft power (Muay Thai) in Vientiane. I'd be interested to hear of people's experience. Thanks
Answer summary
The post inquires about the experiences of Lao passport holders who have applied for the DTV visa, particularly in the context of planning to apply for a soft power initiative (Muay Thai) in Vientiane. It also raises concerns about the financial requirements and access to banking for typical Laotian applicants. A comment discusses the difficulties Laotians face with visa compliance and the reality of border crossings for visa renewals.

Why?
Where is the average Laotian going to get ฿500k Baht in their bank account realistically, or perhaps, even have any bank account?
if a Laotian were to get a Thai E–Visa/Visa, then getting a Non–LA Labour E–Visa for ฿500.- Baht, then the Two(2) Year Extension of Stay for Labour, along with a Multiple Re–Entry Permit, and also, a Thai Work Permit along with their Non–LA Labour
of course, if one were to observe the daily passenger traffic, then many Laotians just do a Border Bounce every 60 Days, or, eventually, every 30 Days for a free Thai Visa Exemption Entry Stamp, and, unfortunately, a good number are not even able to read their Entry Stamp as to what the permitted to (end of) Stay Date is
in addition, this is along the 50 Lao–Thai Border Gates (Land or Water) that a Lao Passport holder can use for Entry into Thailand, not counting even more locations open only on weekends, once day a week, or seasonally
