Will I encounter issues re-entering Thailand from Laos after a two-week trip?

Hi, I'm planning on going for a trip to China then Laos and returning to Thailand at Nhong Khai. If I'm away for 2 weeks, have a visa, everything in order, should I anticipate issues and change my plans? I actually want to go to Isaan 😅 but I could fly from Vientiane to Bangkok I guess if that border crossing has become problematic. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a trip to China and Laos before returning to Thailand through Nong Khai and is concerned about potential issues upon re-entry. The community response indicates that with a valid visa, particularly the DTV visa which allows multiple entries over a five-year period, the user should not face any issues. Concerns about same-day border runs affecting entry are mentioned, but the general consensus reassures that a two-week trip should be seen as a vacation rather than a red flag.

No issue. You have a visa that lets you in and out as much as you want over a five year period. I guess the only risk might be if you obtained the DTV dubiously (generally some weird "soft power"), in which case they may want to see that your qualification for the visa is still valid.

But in general, I don't believe there are any issues. Just present sensibly.

No problems whatsoever. Drove to Laos for just a few days over New Year. In at one border, out at another. No issues.

Realistically, most of the issues people are reporting are coming from people doing same day border runs and those people typically hold less “favourable” passports. If you’re gone for two weeks then it does indeed look like a vacation rather than just a border run.
