You're probably already back in Thailand but to avoid immigration issues I'd suggest Trat (Hat Lek). Also, it's a much nicer and more scenic route with great beaches to stop off at if one has time.

For Phnom Penh to Trat

You go to Koh Kong first.

Bus ticket PP to Koh Kong about 15U$

Very easy border to cross there

Koh Kong you just take a Tuk Tuk to border. About 3U$

After you crossed the border you walk about 100m.

There are minivan going Trat.

You cannot miss it

it's widely known as the most difficult land border to try and cross in the entire country. Many horror stories from there.

Travel in Cambodia is outside the scope of my knowledge.
