Hello, Can anyone share experience of visa run at Cambodia border? I have friends of Russian and Philippines national and they have never done any border bounce before. We are planning to drive there on our own and have a day trip at a resort there and come back by evening.

If they will be joining visa run agencies then just show up at the meeting place on time, ride the van for 3-4 hrs. Unload the van when everyone does so, go along with the crowd and go wherever everyone is going. Once the guide ask for their passport, give it to him and pay the fee. Wait for 30-1hrs for the passport, get back, follow the people they are with. Ride the van again to go back to Bangkok

its been ages since i did my last border hop. Things change. I would say that it depends on the Thai border immigration if they will let them in or not. 1 factor is if they have a lot stamps ins/outs already. but as you mentioned, its their first border hop, so i think there will be no problem. Enjoy the trip and drive safely.

Very informative, I have International driving permit and I'm planning to park the car at Thailand and then go there by taxi/walk. I already have multiple re-entry permit. As for my friends who are Russian and Filipino, do they need return ticket, any funds or other requirements to show?

also watch out for people there trying to offer "assistance"... never give your passport to them if you are doing the border hop yourself. if you go with the agency, its ok.

hour drive from bangkok to border. make sure to bring your driver's license, car registration, passport as there are checkpoints on the way to the border... be reminded that you can not cross the border unless you have a re-entry permit. You friends need to stamp out from the Thai border and cross the other side and stamp in and out also from the cambodian side. (sometimes, even filipinos are being asked to pay "visa" for entering cambodia for short time)... then they need to be stamped in at the thai border again... the whole process will take 1 hour depends on how long the que is

Not really familiar, but I think the only difference is that they will have to be the ones to go to the border office to process

at poipet they deny %90 of the people who tries to reenter country within the same day of the exit. if you have a tourist visa, you will not have any problem but visa exempt entry is almost impossible.

non discriminatory. Regardless of country of origin. I think they are pissed about being assigned there and show it.

As Tod mentioned: "They might have problems at the Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet border. That border is NOT user friendly." This is for all people.

notes with thanks. Last question, do you know if that border is NOT user friendly only for Russian or also for Filipino and Greece? Thanks in advance.

Yes but be aware: If denied at the border, he need to cancel his exit stamp of neighbor country, get transport to the airport, book a flight, explain denied entry stamp, the cancellation of the exit stamp, fly to Thailand and explain again the denied entry stamp and cancelled exit stamp. It takes a lot of time and effort.

Umm, Russians CAN'T get 30 day extensions on their visa exempt entries at the immigration office :/

They might have problems at the Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet border. That border is NOT user friendly.

Unless they have done 2 border bounce this year in any land border, they can't do a third border run. They need to get a visa from a Thai consulate.

Robert Lagas Actually, I already have a WP and annual visa. But my friend who is a Russian and Philippines national are on visa exempt and have already extended another 30 days at immigration. They would like to stay another 20 days so they plan to do a visa run for another visa exempt entry. I hope i explained.
