Wanted to follow up on my Ranong border run, but comments have been disabled.
I was just wondering, is it normal that you pay 500-1000 bath for “stamp out” before you go to immigration?
The bus driver of the pre-arranged tour collected all our passport and 500-1000 bath depending on country.
I think it is “normal procedure” and the travel agency also informed about this cost.
However, it seems like they just found another way to take away tourist money without any valid reason.
No such “fee” at Penang border run

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether it is common practice to pay a fee ranging from 500 to 1000 baht for a 'stamp out' when crossing the Ranong border in Thailand. They mention that a bus driver collected this fee before going to immigration and express concerns about the legitimacy of the charge, noting that there was no such fee at the Penang border.
