This may fall outside of this groups expertise. But I'll ask anyway.
A student left the country without the reentry permit. She was allowed back in on a VOA. Indian passport, duly enrolled at well known International School in Chiang Mai, student is 18 yrs of age and less than 50 days away from graduating.
CM Immigration is saying that she must exit and return on a 60 day Tourist Visa thar can then eligible to be converted to the ED visa (even though she will be leaving Thailand in under 60 days).
My question is, easiest location for her to travel to in order to receive this 60 day visa? Or any other suggestions to this mess.
TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian student, enrolled in an international school in Chiang Mai, entered Thailand on a Visa On Arrival but left without a reentry permit. Now facing immigration challenges to return, she has been advised to obtain a 60-day Tourist Visa. One recommended travel destination for this visa application is Savannakhet, Laos, where Indian nationals can apply for a single-entry tourist visa. Key requirements include having a bank balance of at least 20,000 baht for the past three months, proof of exit from Thailand within 60 days, and confirmed accommodation for the stay.
