TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the best countries for making a visa run when holding a 2+1 month tourist visa in Thailand. Notably, the first step after holding an Educational (ED) visa is to cancel it at local Immigration, which can complicate obtaining a new tourist visa. Popular destinations for visa runs include Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Penang, Vientiane, and Savannakhet. When applying for a tourist visa, individuals must meet various requirements, such as maintaining a minimum balance in a bank account, proving onward travel plans, and providing hotel accommodations. The Thai consulate in Vientiane is highlighted as a simpler option, though appointments must be booked online.

ANY of the thai consulates are easy to deal with IF you meet the requirements posted on their website
Most require proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in a bank account, proof of onward travel in 60-90 days, and proof of a hotel booking or lodging..
IF you can't meet those requirements your only choice is the thai consulate in Vientiane. Remember the thai consulate in Vientiane requires you book an appointment online and at this time their earliest appointment for a tourist visa application is Friday May 10th.

I see many wrong advise, after an ED Visa or extension of stay based on study it is not easy to get a Tourist Visa. First you need to void your ED visa or extension of stay at local Immigration, than it is advisable to check the requirements of the places you want to go. KL , Singapore, Hanoi, HCMC or Penang are options. Vientiane or Savannakhet as well. I close comments as this is thai visa advise and not a place to get knowledge on how to beat the system.
