The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) allows expats to live in Thailand under two main options: working remotely for companies outside of Thailand, or engaging in 'soft power' activities like joining a course (such as Muay Thai or Thai cooking). To qualify, applicants must demonstrate financial stability, typically requiring a bank balance of 500,000 baht or its equivalent. For detailed requirements, prospective applicants should refer to the official website of the Thai embassy pertinent to their location.
Well site tonight might not be up to date because they change requirements as of May 1st. 2025

So look at Google while the rest of us try to find out about personal experiences, that might have been how you did it, but maybe there was a better way, like finding out the pitfalls and experiences from others. Enjoy your Google
it's not my page, but some of us, or probably most of us are better able to visualise what we are looking for if somebody explains it, before we confuse ourselves with e-documents, rules and regulations, it is good that there are people out there willing to explain it to us.
I am moving over later this year from the UK and getting these things sorted in my head is helping me to plan.
Have a good day all, and thanks for the info x

Start by reading any Thai Embassy website, about which visa’s are available.
