DTV application as a spouse

Hi!

I have been trying to find a post regarding my question for my DTV application as spouse. I couldn’t find anything regarding my question and I hope some of you have some experience since before.

My wife got her DTV approved a few days ago. I will now apply for mine. Do you know if they are strict with the 500k in the bank account for 3 months as they were for my wife. I’ve had mine for around 1 month.

If they are do you know a way that might help my application and getting it approved.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the applicant's preparation for a DTV visa application as a spouse after their partner's visa was approved. The main concern is whether the requirement of having 500,000 THB in the bank for three months is strictly enforced for spouse applications, and the user seeks advice on improving their chances of approval. Community responses emphasize variability in enforcement based on the consulate, with suggestions to include a sponsorship letter and marriage certificate to support the application.

You have to have $500,000 in the bank in order to get your visa?

Yes, they are very strickt.

No, there are not very strickt.

It seems to depend where you apply.

And that was left out, so we have to guess.

For a spouse DTV, requirements can still be checked individually. Some consulates do look at the 500k THB history, even for spouses, and others are more flexible — it really depends on where you apply.

What usually helps is:

• clearly showing you’re applying as a dependent spouse,

• including your marriage certificate,

• and showing combined financial support if allowed (same account or clear support letter).

There’s no guaranteed workaround — it’s ultimately consulate discretion.

If she writes a sponsorship letter in addition to your bank statement, there should be no issues whatsoever

Its relevant as to what type of DTV your wife has, and which embassy you are applying for. Some are not as strict as others on the seasoning of funds.

Did she get the DTV visa from the Thai Embassy in Spain?

Are you both of the same passport nation?

What soft power activity did she use to get the DTV visa?
