I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa. My remote job officially starts in March, and I already have a signed contract ready to show.
Would you recommend waiting a few months until I can prove actual salary payments before applying as a digital nomad?
Or would it make more sense to apply for a Soft Power visa since at the moment I can only show the signed contract but no payslips yet?
Would really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The author is considering applying for a DTV visa while currently only having a signed contract for remote work, with actual salary payments starting in March. They seek advice on whether to wait until they can provide proof of salary payments or if the Soft Power visa would be a better option, given their current circumstances.
I got already a home office contract for couple years. The only document I needed to provide after the initial online apply was a pay slip of the last month. Of course every embassy is different but the chances are pretty high that you need to show this too. So wait at least for your first pay slip.
When I applied, the embassy would not accept my new contract as I had not been paid. They wanted to see salary payments, they told me. That was at Taipei. Many embassies are similar.
