Hi.. my husband is now in Savannakhet for the marriage visa which he will receive his passport back on Monday afternoon.

Would he be able to come back crossing the border at Mukdahan? He will go to the hospital for doctor certificate, and have travel insurance that cover $100k.

Appreciate your help here.. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether their husband could re-enter Thailand from Savannakhet via Mukdahan after obtaining his passport back for a marriage visa. A response indicated that land crossing may not require the same insurance requirements as air travel, but there were concerns about the operational status of the Mukdahan/Savannakhet border. Alternative travel routes were suggested.

So this won't turn into an insurance recommendation group, I'm closing comments. Unless one of the mods disagrees, they can reopen it.

To my knowledge, as of right now, the insurance requirements is for air only. If he's going to border bounce by land, I do not think he needs that requirement.

I *DO NOT* know if the Savannakhet/ Mukdahon border is still operating. They have stopped the (Thai/ Lao) ferry service across.

If they won't let him cross over, then have him go to Vientiane and cross over to Nong Khai, Thailand.

PLEASE post back on Monday of what happened.
