Conflicting info on the Los Angeles Consulate site.
For the O-A visa do I need to show 800k baht equivalent (approx 24k USD) or 30k USD?
The requirements list shows 800k baht, and the document list says 30k USD.
Any first hand experiences?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is conflicting information regarding the financial requirements for the O-A visa. The Los Angeles Consulate states that applicants must show either 800,000 baht (approximately 24,000 USD) if using a Thai bank account, or $30,000 if using a foreign account. This discrepancy arises because the embassy's currency conversion is reportedly unfavorable.
If you have a Thai bank account, you can show that bank account and 800,000 baht.
If you do not have a Thai bank account and you want to use your account in the US, you need to show $30,000. That's because the embassy uses a shitty conversion rate.
