Hello everyone, I'm currently in Malaysia applying for a tourist visa to Thailand and have run into a small issue. I’d like to ask for your help. The embassy requires a "receipt of your departure ticket booking" – does this mean a ticket showing my exit from Thailand? Also, I only have the receipt only in Chinese. Is it acceptable to translate it into English myself and submit that to them?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses the requirements for obtaining a tourist visa for Thailand from Malaysia, specifically concerning the need for a receipt of the departure ticket booking. It clarifies that the embassy may require an actual ticket or confirmation of a booked flight out of Thailand rather than just a booking number. Additionally, the query discusses whether a self-translation of a receipt in Chinese to English is acceptable. Community responses emphasize the necessity of having a confirmed ticket, advise against using Malaysia for visa processing, and suggest options like providing a dummy ticket.
It is highly recommended to avoid filing for visas from Malaysia. This is one of the reasons. They want an actual ticket out of Thailand within your 60 days.
people said that it’s easier for foreigners to apply for the visa in Malaysia. For now,It’s ok.But they have already asked for the new files for three times in the past one week😂
yes, very common with Malaysia. Asking for many documents repeatedly, including documents you already sent them one or two times already. And then taking a very long time to process.
In the past from uk I sent then a picture copy of the booking confirmation which included my exit flight back. I subsequently changed the flight back after applying and receiving a thirty day extension.
I have understood that the requirement document is payment receipt when you are buying ticket at airline or platform. Booking only is not enough to grant visa. It must be confirmed ticket.
An Embassy usually requires a flight number arriving in Thailand and an intended arrival date not an actual booked flight ticket. Was this their website or a translation from?
