Married to a Thai national, aged over 50 and we wish to spend 6 months in the UK and 6 months in Thailand in future. We still have a few years till we plan on retirement, so are both well aware that things can and almost certainly will change. Given the above information, what visa would be best for me ? Obviously visa criteria is likely to change, but just working on current rules and regulations.
TLDR : Answer Summary
Considering the current circumstances, the best visa option for a spouse of a Thai national who plans to spend 6 months in the UK and 6 months in Thailand is likely a multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage. This visa allows multiple entries to Thailand over the course of one year, with each entry valid for 90 days, and you can extend your stay by border runs.
