TLDR : Answer Summary
For a US citizen planning to oversee operations at a Thai factory, the only suitable visa is the Non-B visa, which requires a valid work permit to legally work in Thailand. It is crucial to obtain these before arriving and to avoid working without the proper visa, as this could lead to legal issues, including detention or deportation. Border runs can extend stays but do not authorize work. Companies should ensure proper visa arrangements for employees to avoid legal complications.
Listen to the people who are saying non-B visa!! The rules are very deliberate and strict, you CAN NOT WORK in Thailand with any other visa and risk not only deportation but YOU will be held accountable and the remote possibility of even being arrested, though deportation and restriction is more likely.

Confusing. Perhaps you have skipped over some details. Something not kosher here?

Doesn’t seem to be a legitimate company if they are not setting up the Visa for you. Be careful 🤙🏽

Go to Thai embassy in the USA. Less expensive and no headaches

In this situation you need a type B visa, and nothing else keeps you legal. When you get here then you also need the required work permit. Without these you are not legal to do any work of any kind. If you've got just a short time before you're supposed to be there, you better get started on getting this type B visa immediately.
Try EOR its the right visa for you since you have company overseas, I can recommend you to this company who do EOR services. They help me to obtain my Smart Visa.
You risk getting caught and being detained by immigration in horrendous conditions for months. And the chances of getting caught are extremely high. Don't do it.

The ONLY visa that works for you is a Non-B visa, there is no alternative. Although there are variations on that visa depending on what you will actually be doing.
The only visa that will allow you to do work in Thailand is a Non-B visa, this requires a plethora of paperwork from the Thai company, and even if you have this visa, you are not allowed to do any work until your work permit has been approved, more paperwork, and this can only be applied for when you are in Thailand
that is not correct. Though it's seems unlikely that OP would fall into those categories, having a non-o or extension thereof based on either marriage to a Thai or being the parent of a half Thai child both allows working too.. Just as an example. There are also various types of smart visa that allows work. Saying the only visa that allows work is a non-b is just not correct.
